Message from Ron Lawer:
PRAISES!
- Praise God that we are very close to being ready to release our translation of Jonah. It is in the final editing cleanup & approval stage now! We will let you know when it is released on our website (within the next two weeks, if all goes well).
- Praise God for bringing Bobby safely back from his 3-week language survey trip in a high-risk country!
PRAY FOR OUR TEAM:
- Our team leader Ron’s wife (who had heart surgery in November) is having problems with her new pacemaker. She is in the hospital again this week for a pacemaker replacement. Pray that the procedure goes well and that this resolves all issues.
- Pray for our translation consultants, as they are under a heavy workload and have many tight deadlines to meet for our project this year.
- Pray for the 15 CBT translations that we are scheduled to do this year. We are currently working on drafts and revising for the first three passages (due to be released late spring). Pray for God’s wisdom and help for us in our work.
- Pray for Bobby as he settles into his new role as a Consultant-in-Training working with our team and with other teams. We are excited for him!
- Pray for our team members who will be attending two significant conferences in April: Deaf Christian Leadership Conference (in Texas) and Forum of Bible Agencies International (in Brazil). Pray the conferences go well. If you are attending, please find us and say hi!
PRAY FOR OTHER DEAF TRANSLATION TEAMS:
- The Nepali translation team is nearly finished with their first set of 32 CBT passages, with the goal of releasing it by May. Pray for them and their consultant as they work through the intense workload of the final approval process.
- Pray for God to raise up more translation consultants who specialize in sign language translations. The current supply of sign language translation consultants is not enough to meet the growing need of deaf teams worldwide.
- All of the translation organizations (deaf and hearing) have been experiencing a reduction in donations post-COVID, which is impacting their work. Pray for God’s provision financially for all of these organizations.
Thank you for praying with us.
